FactO Check:
The video report is true, however, the claim along with the video is false. The video is from the Maungdaw district of Rakhine state, Myanmar. And the anchor in the viral video can be heard saying the same.
The video is a small clip cut from the DNA analysis report of Sudhir Chaudhry. We found a longer version of the video of over 38 minutes uploaded in 2017 on the Zee News YouTube channel. The video is titled: “DNA analyses on Hindus mass murder in Myanmar’s Rakhine state.”
Zee News has reported this video from Maungdaw, Rakhine and according to the report Hindus were massacred by Rohingya Muslims. The report also claims 45 dead bodies being recovered from the grave and over 1000 people including children and adults missing. The channel reporter Manish Shukla visited the location and he can be seen consoling the victims in the video.
Conclusion: The viral video is from Rakhine, Maynmar and the incident of mass killing of Hindus was reported in 2017. Therefore, the claim of Hindus being killed in Kolkata is fake.
