Written by Abdul M

The news of the rift between UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Central BJP high command started when PM Modi didn’t wish UP CM Yogi Adityanath on his birthday on 5th June. According to an article published by NDTV on 5th JUNE, “The buzz that week was that the BJP’s top leaders were worried about criticism of the Yogi Adityanath government’s handling of the Covid pandemic”. Meanwhile, a lot of social media users have started sharing the screenshot of Uttar Pradesh BJP handle with a claim that Narendra Modi’s picture has been removed from the handle’s display pictures.

A tweet by Srinivas BV (National President Indian Youth Congress) went viral on 7th June. (UP BJP has removed PM Narendra Modi’s photo from its Poster, Thanks fully its not yet removed from other BJP handles.)  (Archive)

Abhijeet Dipke also shared the screenshot of Banner from the BJP UP’s Twitter handle. “Pictures of Modi taken down by BJP UP Unit. Yogi turning Modi into Advani.” (Archive)

A video posted by One India News Youtube channel on 7th June with the heading, “Rift between PM Modi & Yogi? PM missing from UP BJP banner, Twitter explodes”

Dainik Jagran wrote an article comparing banners from other BJP handles where most of the handles has PM Modi photo but was missing from UP BJP Twitter and Facebook page. The caption of article is “योगी और मोदी में तल्खी की आहट:UP बीजेपी के ट्विटर हैंडल से पीएम मोदी की तस्वीर गायब, ये इत्तेफाक है या सियासी संदेश” (Modi’s Picture Missing From UP BJP’s Twitter Handle, Is It A Coincidence Or A New Experiment)

FactO Check:

Using Wayback machine Archive.org, we checked snapshots of @BJP4UP and found that on 20th APRIL 2019, pictures of PM Modi and Amit Shah were there on the banner. Even on 28th APRIL and MAY 14 2019, during the Lok Sabha election, the official handle still has the same banner with Modi and Amit Shah pictures on it.

According to Internet Archive Wayback Machine’s screen capture, the new banner without PM Modi photo was uploaded between May-Sep 2019. According to our research, we didn’t find any proof of a rift between CM Yogi and PM Modi at that time.

Today PM Modi was in Ayodhya to discuss the plan for the upcoming UP Election in 2022. NDTV reported, during the meeting with PM Modi, Yogi Adityanath presented plans for Ayodhya’s development, including better roads, infrastructure, a railway station, and an airport.

Conclusion
: Claim of PM Modi photo removed from Uttar Pradesh BJP social media handles due to alleged rift between Modi and Yogi is found to be false and misleading.
