New Delhi: There have been reports of water scarcity in some parts of Delhi lately. According to news agency ANI, the locals of Sangam Vihar, New Delhi are facing water crisis, and they are dependent on tankers for water supply. However, a photo of a large crowd gathered around a water tanker and climbing on it is going viral across social media platforms claiming it to be of the present situation from Delhi.

A reverse image search of the viral image directed us to Alamy website, a stock photography agency. According to Alamy, the picture was taken in 2009. Sheila Dixit from the Indian National Congress party was the Chief Minister of Delhi in 2009.
As soon as the image went viral, the official Twitter handles of Delhi Jal Board and AAP has replied to Vijay Goel’s tweet. Refuting the claim, AAP said, “Vijay Goel Ji, Are you nostalgic that you’re sharing photos from 2009, or was it a deliberate attempt to defame Kejriwal Govt?”
