FactO Check:

Any government website or Union Ministry website ends with .gov.in or .nic.in. The site in question ends with .in.net. We visited www.in.net which provides .in.net domain through multiple domain registrars. It has a policy that allows buyers to hide their information.  The information of the domain owner is hidden, therefore, we couldn’t find information about the owner. We also noticed the website having a page of selection list in which the candidate’s personal information like the photos, names and email ID is disclosed. The government websites never share personal information.

We looked for the details of owner of the website on ‘Whois’, but the information is not available. According to domaintools.com, the domain is just 56 days old, and it was registered on 13th May 2021. The domain was booked with the ‘publicdomainregistry.com’ website.

We visited the Whois section on the Public Domain Registry website, and found the links to report abuse. We have sent out an email to abuse@publicdomainregistry.com to get information about the owner of the website. We have also reached out to the admin of the website using the e-mail URL.

Further, we made a SSL certificate comparison with an existing Government website. Most of the websites comes with 12 month SSL certificate, however, this website’s SSL certificate validity is just 3 months.

The Press Information Bureau Fact Check called the website “fake” and stated there is “no such website/institute” operated by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

Conclusion:

There is no such website or research institute working under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The website is fake and it is cheating people with the application fees.

Update:  We got a response from the Domain Registry team which confirms the domain is in Server hold status which means the domain is suspended.
