To find the veracity of the claims, our fact check team e-mailed the link of claims being made about the ‘5000 Rs scheme to vaccinated people, to the PIB fact check, the nodal agency of the government of India for confirmation.
In response to our e-mail regarding the claims over the alleged scheme, the PIB fact-check team outrightly denied any such claims. In the response mail to our team, the PIB fact check team provided a link to a tweet that debunks the viral claim. The tweet said in Hindi, “In a viral message, it is being claimed that those who have got the Covid vaccine are being provided ₹ 5,000 by the Prime Minister’s Public Welfare Department after filling an online form.”
