FactO check:

Captain Amarinder Singh resigned from the post of Punjab Chief Minister on September 18, 2021, according to a report published by The Hindu. We checked the Internet Archive prior to September 18, and found that he never had Congress logo in his Twitter logo or had never mentioned Congress Party in his Twitter bio.

We checked the archive of Amarinder Singh’s Twitter id on July 24, 2021, and found no mentions of Congress. His Twitter bio read, “Chief Minister of Punjab and a Military historian.”

Another archive did on June 14, 2021, also shows no sign of Congress in the Twitter bio of Captain Amarinder Singh.

Post his resignation from the post of Chief Minister of Punjab he had uploaded his Twitter bio and mentioned, Army Veteran | Former Chief Minister Punjab | Continuing to serve the State.” An archive of his latest Twitter bio can be seen here.

Amarinder Singh announced his resignation from Congress Party on September 30, 2021. Hence, we can evidently conclude that media organisations had falsely reported that Amarinder Singh had removed ‘Congress’ from his Twitter bio, however, he never had Congress mentioned in his bio.
