A video clip showing a Burkha clad woman doing sit-ups in front of police is in circulation with the claim of being punished for stone pelting in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh.
The clip is shared in the backdrop of recent communal violence during the Ram Navami procession in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. Five people have been apprehended on the murder charge of Ibraish Khan during the violence.
However, we found out that the claim is misleading and the video is originally from Gujarat.
The clip is shared along with the caption that reads: “बाबा से कम नहीं मामा कान पकड़ कर उठक बैठक करती हुई सलमा अब से पत्थर नही फेकेगी video मध्य प्रदेश के खरगौन का बताया जा रहा”
(Translation: Mama is no less than Baba, Salma is seen doing sit-ups and being punished by the police. She won’t pelt stones anymore. The video is said to be from Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone.)

Several social media users have shared the video, some of the archived links can be accessed here, here, and here.
FactO Check:
Using the InVID WeVerify Google chrome extension, we extracted the keyframes and performed a reverse image search. The result led us to a video uploaded on 18 April 2020 on YouTube by a verified channel S9 NEWS – GUJARAT.
The video carries the visual of the woman doing sit-ups and a security official beating a man with a stick. The English translation of the Gujrati description of the video says: “Surat: Curfew imposed by the police in Kot area of the city.”
Taking the cue from this, we further searched about the incident and found a Gujratai article published in Divya Bhaskar two years ago. The translation of the title says that in Surat, a video of a woman doing sit-ups in the Salabatpura fish market went viral.
It also says that the woman was punished for violating the COVID-19 lockdown rules.

Conclusion:
Therefore, it is evident from the above findings that an old video from Gujarat is falsely shared as from the Khargone, Madhya Pradesh.
