Gujarat: On 14th June, 2020 at 8.13 pm IST an Earthquake with a magnitude 5.1 hit several parts of Gujarat with an epicenter in Kaccha District. Tremors were felt in Bhachau, Gandhidham, Navlakhi port etc.

Social media users immediately went on writing about it and their experiences. Several media agencies too reported on the earthquake and immediately put up stories and tweeted about it.

Republic TV writes an article and tweeted the same: (Archive)

FactO Check:

We have noticed that people in the image are wearing Pathani Dress, and also noticed the blue hoarding which is written in URDU and the dress of the Army personnel walking on the side of the road. We did a simple Google Reverse Image check and found several references to this image.

As per this report published on Sep25th 2019 in FirstPost. This particular image is from POK Kashmir where an Earthquake had struck POK on Sep 24th 2019.

ABC News , The Star, and DNA News also published the same report with the same image on Sep 25th 2019.

Conclusion: As we can see the image isn’t from today’s earthquake nor it is from Gujarat. Republic TV wrongly used an old image from POK to depict it as an earthquake in Gujarat, today.
