A screengrab of a news bulletin of K News is doing the rounds on social media. The viral news bulletin claims Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister threatened to join Samajwadi Party when Amit Shah talked about changing the chief Minster of the state.
The news bulletin in Hindi reads: “अमित शाह ने की मुख्यमंत्री बदलने की बात तो योगी आदित्यनाथ ने दे डाली सपा जॉइन करने की धमकी। ” (Translate: When Amit Shah talked about changing the Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath threatened to join the SP.)
Facto News found the screengrab of the news bulletin is fake.
Manju Massey, a Twitter user posted the screengrab of the news bulletin with the caption that reads: “#UP में अब खेला नहीं “खदेड़ा होबे” #उत्तरप्रदेश” (Translation: Now there will be a big game in Uttar Pradesh)

FactO Check:
Using the keyword search, we tried to find if the same news was reported by mainstream media but couldn’t find any.
We then minutely checked the screengrab and found the half-cut logo is of K News. We scrolled through the YouTube channel of K News and found no such news reported by them.
We then compared a breaking news bulletin of the K News with the viral one and found the template is the same, however, the font used in the viral bulletin is different.

Further, we scrolled through the Twitter handle of K News and found a tweet of 12 January 2022 in which they have clarified that the viral claim in the name of their channel is fake. They have also highlighted in the tweet that this kind of fake news will tarnish the reputation of the channel. Tagging the authorities the media outlet has asked to take action those behind it.

It is evident from the above findings that the viral screengrab of the news bulletin is morphed to mislead the public ahead of the upcoming UP assembly election.
