According to a viral video, at least 51 people died in a crossfire in Pakistan. In the viral video, it is claimed that worshippers in the mosque gunned down two donkeys when they entered the mosque. In retaliation, the donkey owner killed 11 worshippers who were present in the mosque. The video went on further to claim that the outraged Imam of the Mosque went to the donkey owner’s village and killed at least 13 Muslims of the village.
Rupin Sharma, an IPS officer in Nagaland Police shared the video claiming that Mulle (a derogatory term for Muslims) killed two donkeys and 33 Muslims.
He said on Twitter, “In Pakistan, Donkeys entered the mosque. Mulle shot down the donkey. The donkey owner killed 11 mullahs present in the mosque. Then, the Imam of the mosque attacked the donkey owner’s village and killed 33 Muslims there, the total death count is 51 and many were injured.”

We also found another post with a similar video with the same claims as Rupin Sharma. The post was shared by Paknews.com on Facebook. The video was captioned in Urdu as “A donkey was shot and killed by worshipers as it entered a mosque in Pul Khumri area of Afghanistan. The owner of the donkey shot at the worshipers and killed 13 worshippers. In response, the worshipers attacked the donkey owner’s village using heavy weapons, and 38 people including 33 women were killed. A total of 51 deaths.”
Unlike Rupin, Paknews.com claimed that the video is from Afghanistan’s Pul Khumri area.

FactO Check
To find the fact about the video, we did a frame-by-frame analysis and found that the video is from Pakistan and not Afghanistan as we found Pakistan’s national flag in the video.
We did a relevant keyword search and found an YouTube video that claimed the viral video is from Pakistan’s Naval colony and the firing occurred between two groups over a financial dispute.
The link to the video can be found here.
A spoke person from Karachi Police told the news agency AFP that the gunfight occurred between two rival groups in the Naval Colony district of Pakistan. He said that two people have been injured and no casualties have been reported.
Another official from the police said that the event took place on September 8, 2022, and both sides have filed complaints against each other.
Conclusion
The viral claim that 51 people have been killed is wrong. The gunfight in the video is indeed from Pakistan but the fight was over a financial dispute and not over donkeys. Also, Neither any mosque nor any Imam was involved in the viral video.
