A 32-second video clip is being largely circulated across all the social media platforms in which former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and Congress party president Sonia Gandhi can be seen shaking hands with the Sri Lankan PM Ranil Wickremesinghe during his four-day visit. The video is now viral with a claim that Congress leader Sonia Gandhi disrespected Dr. Manmohan Singh by sidelining the latter during his tenure as PM.
This viral video has been shared by a twitter user Dr Jitender Nagar on his account which has, as of now, garnered over 1000 likes with caption reads as; “Very disappointing video clip..See how she sidelined the then PM MMS! (Archive)

The same video went viral in 2019 as well by Rohit Agarwal a twitter user with 17.4k followers on his twitter account. The tweet has gained 2084 likes and retweeted by 1.4k people. click here.
To find out the truth our team tried to find the same video on YouTube using the relevant keywords and discovered that this video was uploaded on April 26, 2017 by a news agency NNIS. Thumbnail of the video is, “Sri Lanka PM Holds Talks With Sonia Gandhi And Manmohan Singh.”
As per the video, the Sri Lankan PM Ranil Wickremesinghe was on his four-day visit to India, had met with opposition party leaders Sonia Gandhi and former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh in 2017. Dr. Manmohan Singh has served as a Prime Minister from 2004-2014, which means he met with Sri Lankan PM after his tenure as PM. Watch the video here.

Conclusion: The claims that Sonia Gandhi disrespected and sidelined the then PM Dr. Manmohan Singh during his tenure is false and misleading. The viral video is from 2017 and not during the tenure of former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh.
