Video of traffic jam from Kaghan valley, Pakistan falsely shared as from Himachal Pradesh

Nine tourists were killed and three others were injured when heavy boulders fell on a tempo traveller during a landslide in a landslide near Basteri in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district on Sunday.(25 July 2021). Now a video of long traffic jam on a hilly road is shared tourists returning from Himachal pradesh.

A Twitter account The Himalayan club shared the video with a caption that reads, “Tourists returning from #HimachalPradesh #Himachal #Kinnaur “. Archive version of the tweet can be found here.

A reverse image search of some keyframes from the video has directed us to an article by ‘Daily Times with a title ‘Massive traffic jams as millions throng Kaghan valley on Eid’According to the news report, the video is from Kaghan valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mansehra district. The report states that over 700,000 vehicles have entered the valley during the Eid holidays and this caused a huge traffic jam.

Conclusion:
The video is not from Himachal Pradesh but from kaghan Valley in Pakistan.
