A video showing an E-rickshaw announcing liquor price is circulating on the internet. Several social media users have claimed it to be from Delhi, while several others have claimed it to be from Punjab. In the video, the loudspeaker atop the E-rickshaw announces the different prices for various brands of alcohol, both Indian and foreign-made.
In both cases, users are taking a dig at the functioning of the AAP government in the two states.
Facto News has confirmed that the video is from Rohtak, Haryana.
The misleading caption to the video reads, “घूमती दिल्ली, झूमती दिल्ली” (Translation: Drunk Delhi)
Several others have also shared, claiming it to be a video from Punjab.
Using the InVID chrome extension, we extracted the keyframes of the video. Further, we performed a reverse image search, which led us to a video report published on 15 July 2022 by the verified YouTube channel of Punjab Kesari Haryana.
The report carries the viral clip, and it shows the public advertisement by E-rickshaw on discounted rates of different kinds of Indian and Foreign-made liquor in Rohtak, Haryana. The announcement from the E-rickshaw also advises the public to buy liquor only from government shops.
A website, Haribhoomi, also reported that the video is from Rohtak, Haryana. The reports say that an E-rickshaw is doing public advertisement and persuading people to buy liquors only from government shops.
Therefore, it is evident from the findings that the video is neither from Delhi nor from Punjab.
