Andhra Pradesh: The state now is in 19th position in the country in overall Covid-19 toll with more than 10,000 deaths since April 2020. Like many states, Andhra Pradesh also faced a shortage of hospital beds and oxygen supply. On April 29, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered officials to arrange 1000 oxygen beds and 2000 non-oxygen beds in CCCs in every district, as part of the government’s efforts to increase the availability of beds.

On May 15 & 17, 2021, YSR Congress Party, the ruling party from Andhra Pradesh has tweeted two images with the information of beds available in Covid hospitals in the state as of 14 & 16 May respectively. (Archive here and here)

Translation: “List of beds available in 650 Covid hospital in Andhra Pradesh”

Translation: “List of beds available in 649 Covid hospital in Andhra Pradesh”

FactO Check: Many have raised questions about the images used in the tweets. Facto News has received multiple requests to verify the images uses in the tweet. A simple reverse image search of the above tweeted images have directed us to two articles from Deccan Chronicle and The New Indian Express.

Whereas the image tweeted by @YSCRParty on March 17, 2021 was used in an article “25% Covid beds to be added in Telangana”, by Deccan Chronicle on April 16, 2021.
