15-year-old student is responsible for attack on Christian school in the USA, police say

Police stated that, so far, the investigation indicates that only the teenager was involved in the action, without help from third parties. The weapon used in the crime was a pistol. It is not yet known what the motivation for the crime was, nor whether the dead were the shooter’s targets.

The shooter’s house was searched this evening and investigators spoke with her family. The teenager’s father is listening and collaborates with the police. Authorities are trying to determine whether the parent knew anything about the crime and are trying to find out how the teenager got the gun. “He (father) lost someone too. So let’s not rush the information, let’s take our time and certainly do our due diligence,” Barnes said.

Authorities asked the population not to hold a vigil at the school. Barnes stressed that the area is still a crime scene that is being monitored by police, adding that no one is allowed to enter or remain on the property.

Two of the injured are in serious condition and are at risk of death, according to the corporation. Another four injured people — one teacher and three students — are not life-threatening and two of them have already been discharged.

The case

In addition to the two victims, the shooter also died. The two people killed were a teacher and a student, who were not identified. In a statement, the corporation stated that it was investigating the attack. Previously, the number released by authorities was five dead, but police corrected the information.
