Elephants circle to protect puppies during an earthquake in the USA
A video from the San Diego Zoo in the United States shows the moment when African elephants make a circle to protect himself during the earthquake that hit the city yesterday.
What happened
Images show elephants on alert. During the first tremor, NDLula, Umangani and Khosi run to group and surround the seven -year -old Zuli and Mkhaya, in the so -called “Alert Circle.” Usually the puppies are in the center and adults out to defend the group.
Male puppy that appears in the video is on the edge of the circle, “wanting to show his courage and independence,” explains curator of the zoo. Meanwhile, the Elephant Khosi, who helped create him, is seen by beating over his back with the trunk. “It’s like it’s patting to say, ‘It’s okay, stay in the circle,'” Mindy said Albrightfrom San Diego Zoo, in an interview with the Associated Press.
