Minister calls Bolsonaro “capiroto” in criticism of the distribution of amendments

The Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Farming, Paulo Teixeira (PT), referred to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) as “Capiroto” during a breakfast with leftist parliamentarians on Friday, 9. The statement occurred while speaking criticizing the expansion of the distribution of parliamentary amendments and arguing that the government prioritizes the allocation of public policy budget.

“We have to release the Union budget because it was kidnapped by parliamentary amendments. We have to make a gesture of recomposition of the Union Budget for public policies. Because, in this previous period, when the Capiroto arrived and delivered the budget to have governability, we have to recover the budget for public policies,” said Teixeira.

The meeting took place during the programming of the Agrarian Reform Fair, promoted by the Landless Workers Movement (MST), in São Paulo.

In the speech to the MST militants, Teixeira also broadcast a message from President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), saying that the petista will attend the fair in 2026. According to the minister, Lula could not be present this year because he traveled to Russia “celebrating victory against fascism.”

Lula participates this Friday in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, a holiday in which Russia recalls the defeat of Nazi Germany by the Soviet Union during World War II.
