Brazilian is rescued after missing the way, jammed and walking 24 km in Patagonia
After traveling about 20 kilometers in this shortcut, his car was jammed in the snow and, afraid of being buried, he decided to go on foot. It was about five hours of walking, traveling 24 kilometers, until rescued.
“It started to snow hard and stopped to put the chains (on the tires). I continued, but it was very windy, and the snow was getting denser. In a turn, the car hit a snow dune. It was all white, I couldn’t distinguish what was road and what was not,” he told Ao La Nación. “It was an extreme experience that marked me. By luck I had a happy ending.”
The Argentine newspaper reported that the shortcut traveled by Crevelloni is a “former route of the National Route 40, which today almost no one uses”. According to the publication, the Curitibano had left Expert Moreno, in the north of Santa Cruz, and went south of Patagonia.
