The United Arab Emirates registered on Friday the highest temperature ever documented in May since the beginning of data compilation, 51.6ºC, the National Meteorology Center (NCM) said.
“The highest temperature recorded in the country today is 51.6ºC in Sweehan”, a locality in the Al Ain region, said NCM on social network X. The thermometer reached the level “at 13:45, local time”.
This is a record temperature since the beginning of the records, surpassing the previous record, which had been documented a day earlier in Abu Dhabi, where on Thursday the thermometer reached 50.4ºC.
