Carla Zambelli complains about impeachment trial 'in the middle of Friday the 13th'

Federal Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) said on Wednesday (4) that the pre-trial detention decreed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF) is “illegal, unconstitutional and authoritarian.”

The decision of Moraes, which complied with a request from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), also includes the blockade of deputy passports, including diplomatic, in addition to blocking salaries, assets, bank accounts and profiles on social networks.

In a statement, the deputy questions the monocratic decision of the minister, who did not take the case to the STF plenary, and denounces what he calls “abuse” and “political persecution.”

“Our constitution is clear: a federal deputy can only be arrested in the act and for unenforceable crime. None of this happened,” Zambelli said, promising to take the case to international forums.

The parliamentarian left Brazil on Tuesday (3), crossing the border with Argentina, and, according to his advisory, is in Florida, in the United States.

The minister’s decision points out that the departure of the parliamentarian abroad constitutes an attempt to steal the application of criminal law.

Zambelli was sentenced in May to 10 years in prison for invasion of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) systems.

In addition to the pre -trial detention, Moraes ordered a daily fine of $ 50,000 if Zambelli continues with posts that “reiterate criminal conduct” and asked the Brazilian government to ask Interpol to include the name of the deputy in the red list.
