Venezuela MP requests a new order to capture against opponent Juan Guaidó

According to Attorney General Tarek William Saab, Guaidó offered “the payment of a 500,000 monthly euros commission for a period of three years to senior Spanish government positions in exchange for its recognition as alleged ‘interim president’ of Venezuela.”

During this interim, the Venezuelan opposition took control of Citgo, a branch of state -owned Petroliferous PDVSA. In addition, it prevented control by the country’s Maduro government from the country’s gold reserves, stored in a bank in England.

In October 2023, the Venezuelan prosecutor dictated an arrest order against Guaidó, which fled to the United States in April of the same year, and requested an Interpol red alert after accusing him of “delivering” Citgo.

This case is added “to the 29 cases against Guaidó for crimes of usurpation of functions, money laundering, homeland betrayal and association to delinch, among others,” added Saab.
