Lula’s investigation for INSS fraud is pending to Motta after São João

Lula Declaration motivates request
The central motivation of the application is a Lula speech at a news conference on June 3, when the president said he ordered the control bodies to act with “much caution” to avoid “crucifixions” of suspicious entities. According to parliamentarians, the pronouncement represents a possible embarrassment to the autonomy of PF and CGU.
“Although the apparent discourse prudence, in practice, constitutes a veiled way of conditioning or relativizing ongoing findings,” says the text.
The request maintains that Lula’s manifestation may configure a crime of responsibility by using the position authority to benefit entities potentially linked to political allies and even family members.
Lula’s brother’s involvement is quoted
The document also cites the involvement of José Ferreira da Silva, known as Friar Chico, brother of the president, with Sindnapi (National Union of Retirees, Pensioners and Elderly), one of the entities mentioned in CGU investigations. Friar Chico has been president of the organization, which is suspected of undue discounts on pensions.
