Israel x Iran: 11th day has an announcement of ceasefire after US base attack
Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei said after the attack that he will not tolerate aggression. “We have not hurt anyone. And we will not accept any kind of aggression from anyone under any circumstances. And we will not submit to anyone’s aggression. This is the logic of the Iranian nation,” he wrote in X.
In the morning, Iran was attacked by Israel with missiles in the west of the country. Six airports were also hit, according to the Israeli army. Explosions were also heard in Jerusalem, and Sirens were called to Iranian missiles.
Regime change
Today, the White House reinforced Trump’s speech about a regime change in Iran. “The president believes that the people of Iran can decide their own future. If the Iranian regime rejects a peaceful solution, and yet the president still wants to dialogue, then, why should the Iranian people take power from this violent regime that has so long opposed them?” Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News.
However, she stated that the president is still interested in diplomacy. “The posture of the president and our military posture have not changed,” added Leavitt.
Despite the speeches, the US should not try to overthrow the current Iranian regime, according to expert. “Although rhetorical is striking, the costs of such an action would be immense, especially after the bitter lessons of Iraq and Afghanistan. Iran has more structured armed forces, greater resistance and a more cohesive state apparatus than previous interventions,” said Karina Calandrin, professor of USP international relations.
