“Fake”: Motta denies that government Lula was betrayed in a vote on IOF

The president of the House of Representatives, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), denied that the government was betrayed in the vote that overturned the Decree of Financial Operations Tax (IOF) and said it had announced to the Executive that the elevation of the tax would have difficulty being approved in the National Congress. The statements occurred through a reels on Instagram, short and edited video, published on the morning of Monday, 30.

In the play, there is a narrator who claims to be “fake” that Congress does not look at the people and that the government was caught by surprise. Motta then appears in the video and states: “First, who feeds us against them ends up ruling against all.” He then mentioned the 383 votes favorable to the overthrow of the IOF “of left and right deputy” and stated that the tribute “affects the entire economic chain.”

Motta continued: “Political polarization in Brazil has been tired a lot of people, and now they want to create social polarization”. The mayor, he said, subsequently, proposals by the government that were approved at the same session of the Chamber that sustained the IOF Decree, such as the private payroll and the Provisional Measure of the Social Fund.

Lula government did not pay amendments from 347 parliamentarians until IOF project vote

In all, 76 parliamentarians did not even see the resources reserved for their amendments until Tuesday, the eve of the congress voting that overthrew the IOF rate increase decree

The parliamentarian also said he warned the government about “the boat toward iceberg” and said it does not serve any party. “Captain who sees the boat going towards Iceberg and does not warn is not loyal, it is complicit. And we warn the government that this IOF matter would have a hard time being approved in Parliament. The president of any power cannot serve a party, he has to serve his country,” he said.

The deputy also stated that it is true the impression that he acts as “bite and blow” in the House. “If an idea is bad for Brazil, I will bite. But if this idea is good, I will blow, so that it can spread across the country. To be from the center is not to be absence of position. It is to have prejudice,” he said.

The House toppled the decree last Wednesday, June 25. Motta informed the night before, on social network X, that would guide the overthrow of the IOF in the plenary of the House. THE Political Broadcastreal -time news system of the State Group, found that Hugo Motta’s closest bench leaders had talked about the possibility of the vote a few days ago, but Motta’s official warning to leaders occurred through a WhatsApp group after the X announcement.
