US Department dismisses 20 employees who investigated Trump
WASHINGTON (Reuters)-US Attorney General Pam Bondi fired several other Justice Department officials who worked for special Jack Smith counselor in investigations into retention of confidential records by President Donald Trump and efforts to cancel the 2020 election, according to five people familiar with the matter.
About 20 lawyers and support team who worked on the Smith investigation were fired, according to one of the sources.
At least two of the dismissed people were promoters who worked most recently in other US promoter offices in Florida and North Carolina, three of the sources told Reuters.
