Bolsonaro denies that it is out of 2026: “I am ineligible, but I did not give up”
Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) denied on Monday that he gave up running the 2026 presidential elections. In a video published on social networks, he said he is still ineligible, but refuted information released by the radio Young Pan About a possible departure from you, son Eduardo Bolsonaro and former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro from the electoral scene.
“No young pan is information that I’m out, Eduardo is out and want to put Michelle out too. There is no such thing. What I said to the young Pan is that at the moment I am ineligible,” Bolsonaro said.

In the video posted on the networks, Bolsonaro denied having given the interview:

Political crisis
The repercussion occurred amid the diplomatic crisis generated by 50% tariffs applied by the US over Brazilian products. US President Donald Trump, Bolsonaro’s political ally, justified the measure by stating that Brazil would be “unfair” with its predecessor and cited the judicial proceedings for attempted coup as one of the reasons for the tariff decision.
