Ambassador responds Paes about BBC report that disputes Lady Gaga show
The United Kingdom Ambassador in Brazil, Stephanie al Qaq, commented on Eduardo Paes’s contestation about the BBC report that analyzed the Lady Gaga show in Rio de Janeiro in May.
“Mayor Eduardo Paes was not very happy with a recent report on Lady Gaga numbers in Copacabana. He made a point of showing me. But one thing can deny it: Rio is one of the world’s leading cities when it comes to gathering multitudes passionate about music,” she wrote on her social networks.

The BBC report which Stephanie refers concluded that the presentation actually did not have 2.1 million people, as the City of Rio de Janeiro, but 660,000 people released.
At X, former Twitter, Eduardo Paes has contested the information: “They know nothing! They don’t understand Rio! In the same space that fits 660,000 British, 2.2 million excited and happy Brazilians and Calientes!” Then he also explained the mathematics used to calculate those present at the show.
“BBC, never challenge Rio mathematics,” he concluded humorously.
