Tarcisio is called the ‘future president’ by allies at an event
The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) was called “president” by allies during an event that delivered properties funded by the Casa Paulista program in Embu das Artes (SP) this Thursday, 17.
“The state of Sao Paulo is small for you. As I sent you in the message these days, who needs you now is the Brazilian people,” said Ney Santos (Republicans), former mayor of the municipality, during the celebration. “The voice of the people is the voice of God, and Tarcisio will be the President of the Republic,” said the ally, while the governor laughed at the statement.

The current mayor of Embu das Artes, Hugo Prado (Republicans), also expressed support to Tarcisio in the next presidential race. “The will of the Embuense people and the Brazilian people is that we have a really dialogue president,” he said referring to the governor.

Tarcisio is quoted to compete in the Plateau in 2026. However, former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has not yet defined his support for a right-wing candidate. Bolsonaro is ineligible until 2030, by determination of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), but said he will register his candidacy next year.
While the indecision extends, Tarcisio and the licensed federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), another possible candidate, live a clash. The former president’s son wondered the São Paulo governor attempts to negotiate 50% tax on Brazilian products in the US imposed by US President Donald Trump.
While Tarcisio tries to reverse rates, alleging economic damage to the state of São Paulo, Eduardo argues that taxation is used as pressure to reverse convictions by undemocratic acts of January 8.
Last Tuesday, 15, the former president stated that he “pacified” the relationship between his son and the governor of Sao Paulo after the conflict. “Although he was 40 years old now, he’s not so mature, let’s say, carved to politics. He’s fine, hits 90% of the time,” Bolsonaro said.
