Government expands the right to breast repair surgery in SUS

The government of President Lula (PT) sanctioned a bill to expand the right to reconstructive breast surgery.

What happened

Rather, only cancer patients could undergo surgery. Now the procedure is guaranteed regardless of the cause of breast loss if the person likes it. The law also provides for psychological follow -up and multidisciplinary care in these cases, of total or partial breast mutilation.

This is true for both SUS and health plans. Lula signed the sanction during event yesterday and the project was published today in the Federal Official Gazette.
