Trump’s letter called a warning about Bolsonaro’s escape risk

Donald Trump’s decision to send a letter to Jair Bolsonaro on Wednesday was interpreted among STF members as a sign that support for the former president. In Brazilian courts, the American gesture aroused the suspicion that an escape could be in the plans.

Not by chance, one of the decisions was to prevent Bolsonaro from approaching embassies and diplomats. Not necessarily the escape would come from a route to the US and the American representation. Hungary, Argentina, El Salvador, Paraguay and other allies of the far right would not be discarded as embassies of refuge.

Since taking over on January 20, the Trump administration has acted without any embarrassment to defend their interests and their allies. Even when this required a rescue operation.
