Eduardo Bolsonaro says Nikolas is 'little active' in search of punishments to Brazil

Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) praised the communication of his House colleague, Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), but criticized the miner for not engaging in the search for united States punishment to Brazil.

For the former president’s son, Nikolas is “the biggest voice” of Congress, but has been “little active” in endorsement to sanctions against Brazilian authorities. Eduardo said he feels “disappointed” and that he receives the ally stance with “strangeness”.

“It is difficult that he does not have the exact dimension of what is being treated here in the United States, and that this is vital to rescue Brazilian democracy,” said the federal deputy of São Paulo in an interview with the West Program with them.

“It causes, in a way, strangely that he has been unaffected to bring this message forward. I don’t think Nikolas is a malicious person, but I confess that I thought it would be more supported. It doesn’t depend on my conversation with him, it depends on his action,” he said.

Eduardo Bolsonaro has been in the United States since early 2025. In March, the parliamentarian announced that he would remain in the country, where he would seek “sanctions on human rights violators”, in reference to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the Supreme Court (STF), and other authorities aligning themselves with the magistrate.

In an interview with Podcast INTELLIGENCE LTDA.Eduardo Bolsonaro said he agreed to impose tariffs on Brazilian products in the United States, although he did not ask them to President Donald Trump. “So much so that I call the tariff,” said the parliamentarian, who attributes Trump’s announcement to an “institutional crisis” caused by Alexandre de Moraes.

Eduardo Bolsonaro is investigated for seeking sanctions against the country in the United States in an attempt to obstruct criminal proceedings against his father, defendant by coup d’état. In determining the precautionary measures against Jair Bolsonaro, Moraes assessed that the former president tried to obstruct the process by creating “economic obstacles” between Brazil and the United States.
