Senate entourage arrives in the US for meetings on tariffs; See the agenda
The entourage of Brazilian senators trying to reverse the tariff imposed by Donald Trump to products from Brazil arrived in the United States this weekend.
Already in Washington DC are senators Nelsinho Trad (PSD-MS), Tereza Cristina (PP-MS), astronaut Marcos Pontes (PL-SP), Esperidião Amin (PP-SC) and Fernando Farias (MDB-AL), according to CNN.
Senator Carlos Viana (Somos-MG), who is already in the US, should join his colleagues on Sunday (27). Still await boarding, according to the same vehicle, the senators Jaques Wagner (PT-BA) and Rogério Carvalho (PT-SE).

The official mission goes from Monday (28) to Wednesday (30). The schedule includes meetings at the Brazilian Embassy and the US Chamber of Commerce on Monday. On Tuesday, a meeting with US officials is scheduled. And on Wednesday, the agenda ends with a visit to the society of the Americas and a press conference at the Brazilian embassy.
The goal is to negotiate the suspension of 50% tax on Brazilian products, which should take effect on August 1, said Nelsinho Trad to Agência Brasil, on Friday (25).
“We will meet with US entrepreneurs who have business with Brazil, Brazilian entrepreneurs who have business with the United States, American parliamentarians on a subsequent day so that we at the Commission can demonstrate the intention to strengthen the diplomatic relationship with the United States.
