Government will do what you can to preserve Embraer from tariff, says minister
Port and airport minister Silvio Costa Filho said on Tuesday (29) that the Brazilian government is dialoguing with Embraer (EMBR3) on the means of preserving the company of the 50% rate announced by US President Donald Trump for products from Brazil.
“Embraer knows that everything that can be done and within our reach we will do,” he said, adding that one of the measures could be a greater credit offer to the aircraft manufacturer, which analysts quote as one of the companies most affected by the US fare scheduled to take effect on August 1.
Trump said he doesn’t want to talk now, it’s no use looking for dialogue, says Gleisi
The minister again said that Brazil has no “country hegemony for our sales” and that the country has “a very large market in the world”

According to the senator, an American parliamentarian with whom the entourage gathered showed concern for the consequences of increasing tariffs to Brazilian products in American inflation
In the middle of the month, the company’s executive president Francisco Gomes Neto said the 50% tariff by Trump could have an impact on Embraer’s revenue similar to the COVID-19 crisis. The United States is Embraer’s main market.

Neto said at that time, in an interview with journalists, that tariffs can cause order cancellations, delivery postponements and reduction of investments, as well as possible reductions in the workforce, generating an additional cost of about $ 9 million per plane exported to the US.
Costa Filho spoke at an announcement event of works at Jacarepaguá airport in Rio de Janeiro.
