Brazilian Chancellor has 1st meeting with US Secretary of State, sources say
Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira had his first meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday, sources told Reuters.
On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump signed a decree implementing an additional 40% tariff over Brazil, raising the total rate to 50%, the White House said, citing recent policies from the country with which the Trump government does not agree.
Tariffs, however, will not cover several of the main Brazilian exports, such as orange juice, some aircraft, pulp and energy products.
