Deputy expelled from the PL for defending Moraes claims that it was not communicated from the decision
Federal Deputy Antonio Carlos Rodrigues (PL-SP) said on Thursday, 31, that it has not yet been communicated on a possible expulsion of the liberal party. The parliamentarian was reportedly removed from the subtitle by President Valdemar Costa Neto after a public defense by Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
“I was surprised by news in the press about my alleged expulsion from the Liberal Party. So far, I have not received any official statements and I follow up on a formal demonstration,” wrote Rodrigues. The statement was made by official note, sought by Estadão, the deputy did not respond until the publication.
The congressman also stated that “the PL has always been the only party of my life. I never changed the acronym. I always acted with loyalty, respect and consistency.” He also defends himself, stating that his position is “the result of the legitimate exercise of the mandate” that “was entrusted by the people.”

To the portal MetropolisAntonio Carlos Rodrigues criticized the application of the Global Magnitsky law against Moraes and defended the minister. “Alexandre is one of the largest jurists in the country, extremely competent. Trump has to take care of the United States. Not to get in Brazil as it is getting into,” he said.
The demonstration raised the pressure, which already existed within the PL, by the expulsion of the congressman. “Our parliamentarians understand that attacking US President Donald Trump is unknowingly ignorance,” the party leader wrote in an official note.
