Motta implies that Eduardo Bolsonaro may lose office and questions ‘some movements’
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), said he respects, but does not agree with “some movements” made by Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and signaled that he could decree the loss of Eduardo’s mandate.
“We have a political-legal problem that involves Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, who has made the decision to go to the United States and defend the theses that are expensive. And these theses, we have to respect, he is in the exercise, although he does not agree with some movements he has done,” he said in an interview with Igor Gadelha column from the portal Metrópoles.
According to Motta, Eduardo will be treated “based on regiment”. “It is important to say that we will treat every deputy based on regiment. There is no predictability for the exercise of the distance mandate in our regiment,” he said.
Still according to the mayor, Eduardo made a choice to go to the US and he knew “what would not be possible.”
“The parliamentarian, when he decided to go to the United States, he had a goal, he also knew what it would not be possible to maintain, when he chose to be at a distance from his mandate, the state he represents,” said Motta.
Repeating threats he had made last week, Eduardo said Motta could be punished by the US government if “it does not fulfill its role as a representative of society.”
“I do not speak for the US government, but there may be, as it happened to Rodrigo Pacheco, who lost his visa. He lost his visa due to the large volume of impeachment requests from Alexandre de Moraes who were never even analyzed. So Pacheco, former president of the Senate, was seen as a part, a piece that sustains this regime. Possibly, in the scenes of the next chapters, this is true, ”said Eduardo.
The United States government announced on July 30 punishment to Moraes with the magnitsky law. It is the first authority of a democratic country to be punished with the sanctions provided for in the standard, created to restrict the rights of serious human rights violators.
The Magnitsky Law provides as punishment to ban entry into the United States, the blockade of goods and properties in US territory, the “extraterritorial ban on service by companies based in the United States to the targets of punishment.
Motta said one of the burden of his work as mayor is balance. “We have to do what is right and nothing will take us out of this focus,” he said in response to Eduardo’s statement.
