The US government has suspended a transfer of $ 584 million to the UCLA (University of California) in Los Angeles.

What happened

University reported that resources were used to finance scholarships. The institution’s rector, Julio Frenk, said in a statement released yesterday that the most affected areas are science, health and energy.

Cut “is a loss for people across the country that depend on advances and innovations” resulting from the institution’s research, said the rector. “If these funds remain suspended, the situation will be devastating to UCLA and Americans,” he added.
