PL leader in the House will ask for filing the lawsuits against deputies
The expectation of the PL leader in the House, Deputy Sostenes Cavalcante (RJ), is that the corregedoria of the house will file the lawsuits against 14 parliamentarians sent last week by President Hugo Motta. There are 11 party deputies cited as having direct involvement in the riot that lasted two days and interrupted the votes on the return of the July parliamentary recess.
“If the Corregedoria understands that it is up to the filing, we will ask for filing. Otherwise, the process goes to the Ethics Council, but we believe in acquittal,” said Sostenes Cavalcante in an interview with Infomoney.
By the rules of the House, the corregedor, Deputy Diego Colonel (PSD-BA), should present until next Wednesday (10) the opinions of disciplinary proceedings against the accused parliamentarians.
The corregedor should do a preliminary analysis of the cases and may still include other names in the list. He can also give his opinion if he agrees to apply a summary rite. This means that the mandate of a deputy may be suspended even before the judgment of the proceedings by the Ethics Council.
It is up to the board of directors to formally decide on the immediate suspension of a parliamentarian.
But Cavalcante recalls that while the deputies occupied the table in the House plenary, opposition senators also interrupted work in the Senate. However, there was a negotiated exit with President David Alcolumbre (Union-AP), with no punishment forecast.

The PL leader also said that he intends to insist on the end of the privileged forum later this week and the amnesty project in the coming days. According to him, there is an agreement with the leaders of the new, União Brasil, progressives and PSD, as well as the PL itself to put the stories in vote.
Any change in the forum can be questioned in the Supreme Federal Court (STF), which has already established an understanding of the matter.
“Our action planning continues. We have organized, planned actions, but we will not spoil anything, let’s perform everything by surprise,” he warns.
In addition to the complaints presented by several parties against 14 opposition deputies who occupied the plenary, the corregedor also received a PL request to punish Mrs Camila Jara (PT-MS), accused of pushing Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) when Motta tried to resume his chair at the table.

How does the rite work in the corregedoria?
During the management of Arthur Lira (PP-AL), the Chamber created an accelerated rite that can to punish deputies even before the establishment, discussion and conclusion of a process in the Ethics Council.
After the manifestation of the Corregedoria, the board of directors may request the immediate suspension of a parliamentarian. Only then is the request sent to the Ethics Council to analyze whether or not agrees to punish up to three days.
In these cases of summary rite, the deputy can still be formally tried in the Ethics Council and risk being revoked.
