Bolsonaro filters home prison visits and limits access to allies, says Jornal
Fulfilling house arrest by determination of Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF), former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) decided to adopt a stricter filter for the visits he receives. The measure was motivated by complaints to allies about the presence in his home of parliamentarians with whom he maintains little or no political relationship.
According to the newspaper The globeBolsonaro wants to reserve access to people of their trust or who play a relevant role in the political articulation. From now on, requests for visiting authorization will only be forwarded to the STF after the former president’s personal endorsement.

Strategic friends and allies
This Wednesday (13), Bolsonaro received businessman Renato Araújo, former candidate for the City of Angra dos Reis by PL and close friend. The meeting had little conversation about politics, but Bolsonaro once again expressed discomfort with the restrictions imposed by house arrest.
Leaving the house, Araújo recorded a video defending the former president and classifying his arrest as “unfair persecution.”
POLICY VISITS
Later this week, Bolsonaro should receive the opposition leader in the House, Sanderson Zucco (PL-RS). The previous week, the visits were from the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), and the deputy governor of the Federal District, Celina Leão (PP).
House arrest was decreed on August 4, after Moraes understood that Bolsonaro dismissed precautionary measures by participating virtually political act through third parties.
The former president awaits trial in the Supreme Court, scheduled for September, in the case that investigates the attempted coup of state after his electoral defeat in 2022.
