PF points to articulation of Bolsonaro and Eduardo to coerce STF and to circumvent investigations
The Federal Police indicted Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and the licensed deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) for coercion crimes in the course of the process and obstruction of investigation of criminal organization, within the scope of criminal action that investigates the attempted coup d’état in 2022.
The final report was referred to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case in the Supreme Court (STF).
In addition to pointing out direct interference with the investigations, the PF details an international offensive coordinated between father and son, which involved pressure on US economic sanctions, the use of money sent by supporters via Pix and even a draft of political asylum to Argentina.

PERFORMANCE IN THE UNITED STATES
According to the report, Eduardo Bolsonaro actively acted in the United States to convince former President Donald Trump’s allies to apply sanctions against STF, PGR and the Federal Police ministers, arguing that his father was being the target of political persecution.
The strategy, according to the PF, aimed to condition the withdrawal of sanctions on the approval of a “broad, general and unrestricted amnesty” in Brazil and the accountability of ministers of the Supreme.
For investigators, the peak of the articulation was in July 2025, when the Trump government announced 50% rates on Brazilian products, as investigators claim to have a direct connection with the deputy’s performance.
Messages extracted from Bolsonaro and Eduardo cell phones reveal the joint performance between July 7 and 17. In one excerpts, the parliamentarian warns his father: “We have to decide between helping Brazil, stam the STF and rescue democracy or send the people who have been in a protest that evolved into a horny riot.”
In another message, Eduardo emphasizes: “Take the US support from the calculation, which strategy do you have to achieve which goal is simple.”
On July 9, the date the tariffs were announced, Eduardo writes: “Almost midnight in Brazil and he posted again,” Trump referring. Two days later, he suggests to his father a public thanks: “The most powerful guy in the world is in his favor. We did our part.”
STF attacks and internal dispute with allies
The messages also reveal the attempt to ward off political interlocutors considered rival, such as Governor Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans-SP).
“Tarcisio never helped you in the Supreme Court. He has always been a cross -arm watching you fucking and warming up to 2026,” Eduardo wrote to his father. He also states that he had to dribble, in the US, the perception that “Tarcisio = Bolsonaro”, seeking to maintain exclusive alignment with Trump.
On July 15, the deputy mentions that sanctions of the magnitsky law against Alexandre de Moraes were close to being applied. Already on July 17, the eve of the seizure of cell phones, Eduardo again insisted so that his father publicly thanked Trump, which actually occurred through video edited with subtitles in Portuguese and English.
The PF concludes that the pair not only had prior knowledge of sanctions, but also acted to manipulate public opinion in Brazil, hiding the direct role in articulation with the Trump administration. The intention, according to the report, was to coerce the Supreme Court and Congress, building a narrative that the measures were neutral and unilateral.
Transfer of resources and political asylum
The report also indicates that Jair Bolsonaro transferred about R $ 2 million via Pix to his son, values from the collection campaigns among supporters in Brazil. The messages reveal that he actively participated in the elaboration of public notes and speeches to reinforce Eduardo’s international offensive.
Another point highlighted by the PF is the discovery of a draft of political asylum to Argentine President Javier Milei, except on the former president’s cell phone in February this year. The document, according to the investigators, was reportedly written by Fernanda Bolsonaro, wife of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, and justified the asylum based on “political persecution” and “essentially political crimes.”
“Based on such legal diplomas, I submit this request, requesting the granting of political asylum to my person, Jair Messias Bolsonaro,” says the excerpt from the file recovered by the PF.
In the evaluation of the Federal Police, the gathered elements indicate an orchestrated and internationalized performance to obstruct justice, to pressure Brazilian institutions and create an environment favorable to the impunity of the former president.
The document is now under analysis by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), which must decide whether to offer a complaint, requests new steps, or archives the case.
