Hamas says that Israel’s conquest plan reveals ‘contempt’ for peace in Gaza
The plan to take the city of Gaza, to which the Israeli government announced on Wednesday (20) the mobilization of 60,000 reservists, demonstrates Israel’s “flagrant contempt” for mediation efforts to reach a ceasefire, Hamas said.
The announcement demonstrates “a blatant contempt for the efforts made by the mediators” with a view to a ceasefire agreement and the liberation of hostages in Gaza, wrote the Palestinian Islamist movement in a statement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “demonstrates that it is the real obstacle to any agreement that does not care about life (from Israeli hostages) and that it has no serious intention to recover them,” he added.
