Marcos do Val contradicts STF measurements and show electronic anklet in Live

Senator Marcos do Val (Somos-ES) disobeyed the precautionary measures imposed on him by the Supreme Court (STF) and made a live on his YouTube channel on Friday, 22. In the video, the parliamentarian denies the accusations of leakage of documents from the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), says he did not leave the country illegally and shows the electronic anklet he is using.

“Senator of the Republic with an electronic anklet without any crime,” he said as he lifted his foot and showing the device. “Senators, this is a slap in your face,” adds the parliamentarian.

Val reads, during the video, the cases where the use of an anklet is allowed. He states that the device is foreseen, among other crimes, for involved in drug trafficking, theft, rape and aggression to women, which would not be their case. The senator also argues that he was never convicted, so he could not use the equipment.

In June 2023, Val was the target of a PF operation for publicizing confidential documents from ABIN. In an investigation, he was prevented from leaving the country. However, in July, he traveled to the US using his diplomatic passport and dribbling the STF. Upon landing in Brazil in August, the senator was the target of precautionary measures of the Federal Police, including the use of an electronic anklet.

“I went to the United States because I am a free citizen and senator of the acting republic. I did not commit a crime, I was not denounced. So? From Val also says he had his passport was collected, but there was no order to prevent him from leaving the country.

The senator also states that when he was abroad, he and his daughter had their CPFs and bank accounts blocked by Alexandre de Moraes. After the incident, he said he contacted Marco Rubio – US Secretary of State – and reported the sanctions he faced.

Marco Rubio’s team turned to me on the phone, revolted, I can later show the hatred that were on time, and said:” Senator, tomorrow he will be penalized. ” It adds: “You (Moraes) don’t know who you got into” and says the minister’s fall is approaching.

Senate President David Alcolumbre (Union-AP) on August 13 stated that the house was analyzing how it would resort to the Supreme Court in favor of the senator. One possibility was the Senate, in contrast to a flexibility of the precautionary measures against VAL, to remove the senator of his term for six months.
