Donald Trump has CPF in Brazil?
In 2013, Trump established a society with political commentator Paulo Figueiredo. Figueiredo told Facto News that he does not remember details about the document, but believes he was issued to satisfy Brazilian legal conditions and enable society. “It must have been a legal requirement,” said Figueiredo.
Society aimed to build Trump Rio de Janeiro Hotel, in Barra da Tijuca. The venture even considered the construction of a casino in the hotel, since the bill to legalize the games houses was already being processed in Congress.
But in December 2016, weeks before taking the US presidency for the first time, Trump removed his business mark. At the time, his company said the departure was motivated by delays in the project and referred to the decision as “normal cleaning” in the weeks before he took over the government.
Empower, today under the name of Hotel LSH Barra, was inaugurated in 2016 even with unfinished works. Hotel’s funding was the target of an investigation by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion of corruption.
Figueiredo left the position of executive director of the hotel company at the end of 2015 and moved to the US. At the time, he said that Trump could not know if there was illicit financing because investors had no publicly traded.
Its name was included in the Interpol wanted list. In 2019, Figueiredo was arrested in Miami on suspicion of joining an alleged bribe payment scheme to BRB leaders, a bank controlled by the Federal District Government, in exchange for funds to build the extinct Trump Hotel.
