Jair Bolsonaro’s house in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood of Brasilia has been the scene of weekly lives, gatherings with pastors and political articulations. Recently, however, the black gate of the residence became the entrance of the former president, who has been in house arrest for a federal Supreme Court (STF) for a month. The measure not only restricted its mobility, but also redefined the condominium routine and turned the residence into a Allied pilgrimage center.

Since the first week, the movement has been intense. PL deputies and senators paraded by the address, in public statements of support. In the last four weeks, at least 14 politicians have been allowed to visit Bolsonaro. Among them, three played a decisive role: former mayor Arthur Lira (PP-AL), PL President Valdemar da Costa Neto, and the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).

Lira, Bolsonaro asked for personal commitment to the amnesty articulation, which could include it, and emphasized that the agenda could not be emptied in Congress. The former mayor, according to allies, received the request with caution: he recognized the political urgency, but warned that he would need to measure strength with the Supreme Court.

Valdemar, in turn, treated directly from the PL long -term strategy, including 2026. Bolsonaro asked the party to structure strong plates, especially in the Southeast, not to lose protagonism, and reinforced the need for the subtitle to remain as the right core. Already Tarcisio won Carta to nationalize themes and occupy spaces previously reserved for the former president, becoming a spokesman on the right and taking to himself the articulation of amnesty.

Behind the scenes, allies describe Bolsonaro as a divided leader between physical fragility and political determination. When he met Valdemar, he insisted that his son, Carlos Bolsonaro, is a Senate candidate in 2026 by Santa Catarina. About the amnesty, he talked to Lira directly: “It takes political courage,” he said. But the deputy himself warned that any hasty movement could generate resistance in Congress and the Supreme.

Internally, the house acts as a political HQ with its own routine. Flávio Bolsonaro became an institutional bridge between the father and Congress leaders, transmitting messages. Carlos Bolsonaro and Jair Renan moved less at the residence, but came to Brasilia this week to follow the trial of the coup plot. Michelle organizes home life, from rice with beans that Bolsonaro does not give up the logistics of visits, determining what time allies can go to the house, after being authorized by the STF.

Bolsonaro’s daily life alternates moments of leisure, family routine and political discussions: watch football games, gather with lawyers, receive allies and deals with electoral strategies. The living room table is always occupied by papers and medicine bottles. The former president faces crises of hiccup, reflux and stomach pain, diagnosed in recent tests such as esophagus irritation. These episodes of nausea and fragility, which result from a gastric framework that has presented since the 2018 stabbed, prevented him from participating in the first part of the judgment in the Supreme Court.

Allies report that even in the face of physical limitations, Bolsonaro maintains an intense pace of articulation. The domestic HQ mixes political and intimacy. Michelle prepares homemade food while Bolsonaro debates alliances. At meetings with allies, the former president alternates moments of complaints about pain and hiccups with strategic decisions, such as definition of candidates, regional stands and party movements. “He’s not out of the game, he’s just playing from the home,” says a close deputy.

By completing a month in house arrest, Bolsonaro tries to reconcile the role of head of household with that of a political leader in check.

The trial continues next week, and the result can define whether the house will continue to be the scene of Bolsonaro’s articulations.
