Gleisi calls Tarcisio ‘candidate puppet’, who seeks to indulge Bolsonaro

The minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann, criticized on Saturday the governor of São Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans), whom he called the “puppet candidate”. In a publication on social networks, Gleisi accused Jair Bolsonaro’s ally of defending a government project that would prioritize grant pardon to the former president and expand inequality in the country.

“Tarcisio announced yesterday that after indulging Bolsonaro, if he were president he would increase social inequality in the country. This is what will happen if the market replaces the state, as he defended hours after the Santos-Guarujá tunnel auction,” wrote the minister.

The statement was made a day after Tarcisio claims that it is the market, not the state, which should lead the reduction of inequalities. The governor defended the private initiative as the “driving force” of the economy.

Who goes and who doesn’t go to the Bolsonarist act of September 7 in Paulista?

This Sunday, pockets return to Paulista Avenue to ask for a amnesty from former President Jair Bolsonaro for crimes for which he is still being tried by the STF

After criticizing Tarcisio, Eduardo Bolsonaro points to convergence in amnesty and avoids 2026

At other times, deputy has already criticized the governor for considering that he is intended to apply for the Planalto

– We believe it is the market that will provide the reduction of inequalities, which will provide the explosion of investment that we need. The state itself would not realize it, ”said Tarcisio.

Gleisi countered by highlighting that the work of the tunnel – pointed by the governor himself as a symbol of his management – will only be possible because it has more than $ 5 billion of public resources, equivalent to 85% of the total. She also recalled that the port of Santos was not privatized, as Tarcisio argued, and that this decision was fundamental to enable the project.

The petista stressed that, in her assessment, only the “democratically governed state” is able to reduce inequalities. She stated that market logic is “profit and income concentration at the cost of social injustice”, which, according to her, would have taken Brazil back to the map of hunger during the Bolsonaro government.

“That’s what Bolsonaro and Guedes did, taking Brazil again to the map of hunger, and that Tarcisio, the candidate, thinks of repeating. Bolsonaro and increase inequality is his government program. But it is not the program of the country,” Gleisi concludes in his post.
