Trump follows surrounding democratic cities and announces National Guard in Memphis
United States President Donald Trump said today that he will send National Guard troops to Memphis at Tennessee to combat the crime after his government’s unprecedented police control in Washington last month.
“We are going to Memphis. Memphis is deeply disturbed,” Trump said in an interview with the Fox News program “Fox and Friends”. “We’re going to fix this, just as we did in Washington.”
Trump, who has sought to make crime a central issue, despite the decline in violent crimes in many cities, announced the decision to send federal troops to Tennessee City after finding resistance in his previous plans to send immigration agents and national guard troops to Chicago.
