Hugo Motta says Lula is already in “reelection process” and criticizes polarization
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), evaluated on Friday (26) that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) is already moving focused on the dispute for reelection in 2026.
“We have for the first time the President of the Republic three times elected since the country’s redemocratization, already moving towards his fourth election, already in the process of reelection,” said Motta.
The statement was made during a public security community event. Motta used the context to point out that Brazilian politics is experiencing an environment of strong radicalization, which has made it difficult to analyze structural proposals in Congress.
