Vieira: ‘Lula offered Trump to be an interlocutor with Venezuela’
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, stated this Sunday that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) offered the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to act as an interlocutor between him and the dictator of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro. In the meeting with Trump in Malaysia, the American leader said that the relationship with Brazil is important.
“President Lula raised the topic and said that Latin America and South America, specifically, is a region of peace and he offered to be a contact, an interlocutor, as he has been in the past, with Venezuela, to seek solutions that are mutually acceptable and correct between the two countries. Brazil will always be willing to act as an element to promote peace and understanding”, stated Vieira.
