General arrested for planning an attack on Lula asks for authorization to take the Enem
On Friday, the 31st, General Mário Fernandes made a request for judicial authorization to leave prison and participate in the National High School Exam (Enem). The decision is made by the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case.
The defense of the general, who is in custody at the Planalto Military Command, in the Federal District, states that the request “aims at educational and professional progression, as well as the future remission of his possible sentence”.
The soldier became known for assuming responsibility for the Plan Punhal Verde e Amarelo (which planned to kill Alexandre de Moraes, the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin).
Registration for the exam, according to the lawyers, has already been completed and permission is now required to leave for the tests that will take place on November 9th and 16th, 2025, at the University of Brasília (UnB).
The document requests authorization to take the test and a letter (official communication) to the prison management, asking them to take the necessary measures to ensure that he can participate in the test – either within the prison itself (in the ENEM PPL format, which is for people deprived of liberty) or, if necessary, with an escort to the test location.
Although lawyers certify that Fernandes has completed high school, his higher education, his three master’s degrees or his doctorate (all on the subject of science and the art of war) in the Brazilian Army are not mentioned.
“Study, even if self-taught, as is the case with preparation for the ENEM, is a factor of resocialization and should be honored”, states the document.
