Trump threatens attack on Nigeria for ‘murder of Christians’ in conflicts

US President Donald Trump today threatened to send military forces to Nigeria if Africa’s most populous country does not stop what he described as the “murder of Christians” by Islamist “terrorists”.

“If the Nigerian government continues to allow the murder of Christians, the United States will immediately cease all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well come to this now disgraced country ‘with a hail of fire’ to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these terrible atrocities,” he wrote in Truth Social.

The Republican leader, who unsuccessfully sought a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, said he asked the Pentagon to draw up a possible plan of attack, as he warned that Christianity was “facing an existential threat in Nigeria.”
